Create warm, comforting Winter Spiced Apple Cider easily in your slow cooker. This recipe brings the perfect holiday flavor right to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups Apple Cider (unfiltered preferred)
  • 2 large Apples (cored and sliced)
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
  • 4 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1 teaspoon Whole Cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Allspice Berries
  • 1 Orange (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Place all sliced apples, brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, allspice berries, and orange slices into the slow cooker.
  2. Pour the apple cider over the ingredients.
  3. Stir everything gently to combine the sugar and syrup.
  4. Cover the slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours, or on HIGH for 1.5 to 2 hours.
  5. Taste the cider about 30 minutes before serving. Adjust sweetness if needed by adding a touch more maple syrup.
  6. Remove the whole spices and apple/orange slices before serving, or leave them in for presentation.
  7. Ladle the cider into mugs. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier cider, add 3 star anise pods along with the other spices.
  • If you prefer a clearer cider, strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve before serving.
  • This cider tastes even better after sitting on the ‘Keep Warm’ setting for an extra hour.
  • You may skip the maple syrup if you prefer a less sweet drink.
