Ingredients
Scale
6 cups ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
Combine sliced peaches, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and lemon juice in your slow cooker.
Stir everything together until the peaches are well coated.
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the peaches are very tender and have broken down.
Remove the lid and continue to cook on low for another 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the peach butter has thickened to your desired consistency.
Mash any remaining chunks with a potato masher or immersion blender for a smoother texture.
Carefully ladle the hot peach butter into clean jars, leaving about 1/2 inch headspace.
Wipe the rims of the jars clean and secure the lids.
Process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes (adjusting for altitude if necessary).
Let the jars cool completely before storing in a cool, dark place.
Notes
You can adjust the sugar to your preference.
If your peaches aren’t very sweet, you may need to add a little more sugar.
For a smoother consistency, you can use an immersion blender directly in the slow cooker during the last hour of cooking.
Ensure your jars and lids are sterilized before filling.
