Ingredients
Scale
1 large head of broccoli, cut into bite-sized florets
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, added after roasting)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
In a large bowl, toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Spread the seasoned broccoli in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Do not overcrowd the pan; use two sheets if necessary for maximum crispiness.
Roast for 15 to 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are tender and nicely browned.
Remove from the oven. If using, immediately sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and toss gently.
Serve hot as your perfect side dish project completion.
Notes
For extra crispiness, ensure your broccoli is completely dry before tossing it with oil. Water creates steam, which prevents browning.
Keep an eye on the broccoli after 15 minutes; ovens vary, and you want golden brown, not burnt.
This recipe works well for meal prepping; store cooled broccoli in an airtight container.
