A simple, no-cook recipe for a creamy imitation crab salad perfect for sandwiches, crackers, or lettuce wraps.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz imitation crab meat (surimi), shredded
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely minced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Place the shredded imitation crab meat in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the chopped celery and minced red onion to the bowl.
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, dill weed, black pepper, and salt until smooth. This is your dressing.
  4. Pour the dressing over the crab mixture.
  5. Gently fold all ingredients together until the crab is evenly coated. Do not overmix.
  6. Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow flavors to combine.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, substitute half the mayonnaise with plain Greek yogurt.
  • If you prefer real crab meat, substitute the imitation crab with 12 oz of cooked, flaked crab meat.
  • Add 1/4 cup of sweet pickle relish for a sweeter flavor profile.
  • This salad tastes best when made ahead of time.
