Make a unique dessert by wrapping sweet peach cobbler filling inside crispy egg roll wrappers. You can bake or air fry these for a lighter treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15 ounce) can sliced peaches in heavy syrup, drained and roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • For Coating: 1/4 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • For Frying (Optional): Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the peach filling: In a small saucepan, combine the chopped peaches, 1/4 cup sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in the butter until melted. Remove from heat and let the filling cool completely.
  3. Assemble the egg rolls: Lay an egg roll wrapper flat on a clean surface with a corner pointing toward you. Place about 2 tablespoons of the cooled peach filling near the bottom corner.
  4. Fold the bottom corner up over the filling. Fold in the left and right corners toward the center.
  5. Brush the top edge of the wrapper lightly with the beaten egg. Roll the wrapper tightly away from you until sealed. Repeat with remaining filling and wrappers.
  6. Choose your cooking method: For Baking: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray the assembled egg rolls with cooking spray or brush with melted butter. Bake for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. For Air Frying: Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the egg rolls. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.
  8. For Frying: Heat 1 inch of oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the egg rolls in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  9. While the egg rolls are still warm, toss or brush them lightly with the cinnamon sugar coating mixture. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a dipping sauce, mix 1 cup powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth.
  • You can substitute fresh or frozen peaches for canned, adjusting the cooking time slightly if needed.
  • If you want a crunchier exterior without frying, brush the baked or air-fried rolls with a thin layer of melted butter before applying the cinnamon sugar.
