Make this simple, layered pie featuring creamy strawberry and rich chocolate pudding set in a graham cracker crust. This recipe requires no oven time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made 9-inch graham cracker crust
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk (for chocolate layer)
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla or cheesecake pudding mix
  • 1 cup cold milk (for strawberry layer)
  • 1/2 cup strawberry puree or crushed strawberries (drained well)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tub (8 oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • Chocolate shavings or fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chocolate layer: In a medium bowl, whisk the instant chocolate pudding mix with 2 cups of cold milk for two minutes until thickened.
  2. Pour the chocolate pudding mixture evenly into the bottom of the graham cracker crust. Spread it flat with a spatula.
  3. Place the crust in the refrigerator while you prepare the strawberry layer, about 15 minutes.
  4. Prepare the strawberry layer: In a separate bowl, whisk the vanilla or cheesecake pudding mix with 1 cup of cold milk and the vanilla extract until slightly thickened.
  5. Gently fold the strawberry puree or drained crushed strawberries into the pudding mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Carefully spoon the strawberry mixture over the set chocolate layer. Smooth the top gently.
  7. Cover the pie loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until completely firm.
  8. Before serving, spread the thawed whipped topping over the set pie. Garnish with chocolate shavings or fresh strawberries if desired.

Notes

  • Use cold milk for instant pudding to ensure proper setting.
  • If using fresh strawberries, crush them lightly and drain off excess liquid before mixing into the pudding.
  • For a firmer strawberry layer, you can substitute half of the milk with heavy cream when mixing the strawberry pudding.
