Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons mustard
1/4 cup sliced black olives
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
Roll the meat mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Cut each triangle lengthwise into thin strips.
Wrap a strip of dough around each meatball to resemble a mummy, leaving a small gap for the “eyes.”
Place the wrapped meatballs on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the dough is golden brown.
While the meatballs are baking, mix the ketchup and mustard in a small bowl for the “glue.”
Once the mummy meatballs are out of the oven, use the ketchup and mustard mixture to “glue” two olive slices onto each meatball for eyes.
Serve warm.
Notes
You can use any type of ground meat for the meatballs, such as turkey or a mixture of beef and pork.
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
If you don’t have black olives, you can use small pieces of bell pepper for the eyes.
These are best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave.
