Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and maple extracts.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the chopped walnuts and pecans (if using).
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. Drizzle the maple syrup over the batter in the pan.
  9. Spread the remaining batter over the maple syrup layer.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
  11. Let the blondies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For an extra maple flavor, you can add a drizzle of maple syrup over the top after baking.
  • Ensure your eggs are at room temperature for easier mixing.
