Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground pork
1 cup finely chopped napa cabbage
1/2 cup chopped shiitake mushrooms
1/4 cup chopped scallions
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1 package round dumpling wrappers
Instructions
Combine ground pork, cabbage, mushrooms, scallions, soy sauce, ginger, sesame oil, and white pepper in a bowl. Mix well until fully combined.
Place about one teaspoon of filling in the center of a dumpling wrapper.
Moisten the edge of the wrapper with water using your finger.
Fold the wrapper in half to form a half-moon shape. Pinch the center closed.
Create small pleats along the sealed edge, pressing firmly to secure the filling inside.
Place finished dumplings on a lightly floured tray, ensuring they do not touch.
Steam the dumplings for 8-10 minutes until the filling is cooked through.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
You can substitute ground pork with ground chicken or turkey for a lighter option.
Squeeze excess water from the napa cabbage after chopping to prevent watery filling.
Prepare the filling a day ahead and store it in the refrigerator.
Freeze uncooked dumplings on a tray before transferring them to a freezer bag for later use.
