Ingredients
Scale
4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Zest of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, oregano, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
Rub the herb mixture evenly over the chicken thighs, getting some under the skin if possible.
Place the seasoned chicken thighs in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Air fry at 380°F (195°C) for 15 minutes.
While the chicken cooks, toss the trimmed asparagus with a drizzle of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
After 15 minutes, carefully open the air fryer and add the seasoned asparagus around the chicken thighs.
Continue to air fry for another 5 to 8 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the asparagus is tender-crisp.
Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the cooked chicken and asparagus before serving.
Notes
For crispier skin, spray the skin lightly with avocado oil spray before the final 5 minutes of cooking.
If your air fryer basket is crowded, cook the chicken and asparagus in two batches to ensure even cooking.
You can substitute chicken breasts, but reduce the cooking time by about 3-5 minutes.
