- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper to create the glaze.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush the vegetable oil lightly over the fillets.
- Place the salmon on the prepared baking sheet. Brush half of the glaze mixture evenly over the tops of the fillets.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove the salmon from the oven and brush the remaining glaze over the fillets.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 5 to 8 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and the glaze is sticky and slightly caramelized.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the salmon before serving.
- If you prefer a thicker glaze, simmer the leftover marinade in a small saucepan until reduced before brushing it on for the final coating.
- This recipe pairs well with steamed rice and broccoli.
