Enjoy these Honey-Almond Baked Pears for a simple, healthy dessert or a satisfying breakfast treat. This recipe combines the natural sweetness of pears with the crunch of almonds and a touch of honey.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 firm pears (like Bosc or Anjou)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter or coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a small baking dish.
  2. Wash the pears. Cut each pear in half lengthwise and use a melon baller or spoon to remove the core and seeds.
  3. Place the pear halves cut-side up in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the honey, melted butter (or coconut oil), and cinnamon.
  5. Spoon the honey mixture evenly over the cut side of each pear half.
  6. Sprinkle the slivered almonds over the tops of the pears.
  7. Pour the water into the bottom of the baking dish to prevent sticking and create steam.
  8. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the pears are tender when pierced with a fork.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute maple syrup for honey if you prefer.
  • For a richer flavor, lightly toast the almonds before sprinkling them on.
  • If you like a tangier flavor, add a small squeeze of fresh lemon juice over the pears before baking.
