Enjoy the sweet, juicy taste of fresh peaches with this simple and delightful peach crisp recipe. It’s a perfect dessert to make when peaches are in season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, sliced (about 5-6 medium peaches)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, lemon juice, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat the peaches evenly.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour, brown sugar, rolled oats, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Add the cold butter cubes to the flour mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry blender to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
  8. Let the crisp cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
  • If your peaches are not very sweet, you can add a little more granulated sugar to the peach mixture.
  • You can add a handful of chopped pecans or walnuts to the crisp topping for added texture.
