Prepare tender, juicy steak bites in your slow cooker with a simple garlic butter sauce. This recipe requires minimal effort for a satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for thickening)
  • 2 tablespoons cold water (for slurry)

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed steak into the basin of your slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth, butter, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the liquid mixture over the steak cubes in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours, or on high for 1.5 to 2 hours, until the steak is tender.
  5. About 15 minutes before serving, mix the cornstarch and cold water in a small cup to create a slurry. Stir this slurry into the slow cooker juices.
  6. Cover and cook on high for another 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Serve the steak bites hot, spooning the garlic butter sauce over them.

Notes

  • For best results, do not overcook the steak; check for tenderness around the 3-hour mark on low.
  • Serve these steak bites over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
  • If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, add one more clove of minced garlic.
