Ingredients
Scale
1 pound bulk pork sausage, uncooked
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
In a large bowl, combine the sausage, softened cream cheese, Bisquick, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well with your hands until all ingredients are fully incorporated. Do not overmix.
Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between them.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly on the pan before serving warm.
Notes
You can prepare the dough ahead of time, roll the balls, and store them covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking.
For a slightly different flavor, use half pork sausage and half turkey sausage.
These freeze well after baking; cool completely, place in a freezer bag, and reheat in a 350 degree oven until hot.
