Make tender, juicy steak bites effortlessly in your slow cooker. This set it and forget it recipe uses sirloin steak and a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for a simple weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed sirloin steak into the basin of your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the steak evenly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Gently toss to coat the pieces.
  3. Pour the beef broth over the steak cubes.
  4. Scatter the pieces of butter evenly over the top of the steak.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours, or on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours, until the steak is very tender.
  6. About 15 minutes before serving, stir in the minced garlic.
  7. Remove the steak bites from the slow cooker using a slotted spoon and place them in a serving bowl.
  8. Pour a small amount of the cooking liquid over the bites and toss with the fresh parsley.
  9. Serve the juicy crockpot steak bites immediately over mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sear the steak cubes quickly in a hot skillet before adding them to the slow cooker.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the liquid after cooking and simmer it on the stovetop with a cornstarch slurry until it thickens.
  • This recipe works well with other cuts like chuck roast, but cooking time may need adjustment for maximum tenderness.
