Simple, small baked appetizers featuring brie cheese and cranberry sauce in puff pastry cups.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14.1 ounces) puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 wheel (8 ounces) brie cheese, rind removed and cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a mini-muffin pan.
  2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 24 equal squares, about 2 inches each.
  3. Gently press each pastry square into the cups of the mini-muffin pan, forming a small cup shape.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the cranberry sauce with the orange zest and chopped rosemary, if using.
  5. Place one small cube of brie cheese into the bottom of each pastry cup.
  6. Top the brie with about 1/2 teaspoon of the cranberry mixture.
  7. Brush the edges of the pastry lightly with the beaten egg wash.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can prepare these bites up to 24 hours ahead. Store them covered in the refrigerator.
  • Reheat in a 350 degree oven for 5 to 7 minutes until warmed through.
  • If using crescent roll dough instead of puff pastry, you may need to adjust baking time slightly.
