Ingredients
Scale
2 large oranges
8 ounces dark chocolate (at least 70% cacao), chopped
1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)
Flaky sea salt (optional, for topping)
Instructions
Wash and thoroughly dry the oranges.
Slice the oranges into rounds about 1/4 inch thick.
Place the orange slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Melt the chopped dark chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave in short intervals, stirring until smooth. Add coconut oil if using.
Dip half of each orange slice into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off.
Place the dipped slices back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
If desired, immediately sprinkle a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt over the wet chocolate.
Refrigerate the slices for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely set.
Serve chilled. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
Use high-quality dark chocolate for the best flavor.
Make sure the orange slices are completely dry before dipping; moisture will cause the chocolate to seize.
For a cleaner look, use a fork to drizzle the chocolate over the slices instead of dipping.
