Ingredients
Scale
1 large apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative)
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup ice cubes
Optional: 1/4 teaspoon caramel extract
Instructions
Prepare the apple: Chop the apple into small pieces. You can steam or microwave the pieces briefly (about 1 minute) to soften them slightly if you prefer a smoother texture. Let cool.
Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender: Place the chopped apple, almond milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel extract (if using), vanilla extract, and ice cubes into the blender jar.
Blend until smooth: Secure the lid. Start blending on low speed, then increase to high. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides if necessary.
Check consistency: If the smoothie is too thick, add a splash more almond milk and blend again.
Serve immediately: Pour the Caramel Apple Smoothie into a glass. Garnish with a light sprinkle of cinnamon, if desired.
Notes
For an extra cold smoothie, freeze the chopped apple pieces for at least two hours before blending.
If you want a richer ‘caramel’ flavor without added sugar, use a few drops of sugar-free caramel flavoring.
Substitute the Greek yogurt with frozen banana chunks for a naturally sweeter, thicker base.
