Make these BBQ Pulled Pork Loaded Fries for a crowd-pleasing snack. This recipe combines tender, smoky pulled pork with crispy fries and savory toppings for a truly satisfying dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs Pulled Pork (pre-cooked or slow-cooked with BBQ sauce)
  • 3 large Russet Potatoes, cut into thick-cut fries
  • Vegetable Oil, for frying
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced Red Onion
  • 2 tablespoons fresh Cilantro, chopped
  • BBQ Sauce, for drizzling
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fries: Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes. Drain and pat them completely dry with paper towels.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 325°F (160°C).
  3. Fry the potatoes once until they are lightly cooked and pale, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain them on paper towels. Let them cool for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Increase the oil temperature to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Fry the potatoes a second time until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-4 minutes. Remove and immediately sprinkle with salt. Keep warm.
  6. Gently reheat your pulled pork if needed.
  7. Assemble the loaded fries: Arrange the hot, crispy fries on a large serving platter.
  8. Top the fries evenly with the warm BBQ pulled pork.
  9. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the pork and fries.
  10. Place the platter under a broiler for 1-2 minutes, watching closely, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Remove from the broiler. Top with dollops of sour cream, sliced red onion, and chopped cilantro.
  12. Drizzle generously with extra BBQ sauce before serving immediately.

Notes

  • For easier prep, you can bake the fries instead of frying them. Toss them with a little oil and bake at 425°F (220°C) until crisp.
  • Use your favorite style of BBQ sauce, whether it is sweet, tangy, or smoky.
  • If you want a spicier kick, add a dash of hot sauce to the sour cream before topping the fries.
