Make tender pork schnitzel with a crunchy Parmesan crust using your air fryer for a quick, low-oil meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 thin-cut pork chops (about 1/4 inch thick)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cooking spray (oil-based)

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops completely dry using paper towels. This helps the breading stick.
  2. Set up a standard breading station with three shallow dishes. Place flour, salt, and pepper in the first dish. Whisk eggs in the second dish. Mix panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and garlic powder in the third dish.
  3. Dredge each pork chop first in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  4. Dip the floured chop into the egg wash, letting excess drip off.
  5. Press the chop firmly into the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture, coating both sides well. Press the crumbs onto the meat to adhere.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 5 minutes.
  7. Lightly spray the bottom of the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the breaded schnitzels in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap. Work in batches if necessary.
  8. Spray the tops of the schnitzels lightly with cooking spray.
  9. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through. Continue spraying the tops lightly before the second half of cooking. The schnitzel is done when golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  10. Serve immediately with lemon wedges or your preferred sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, let the breaded cutlets rest in the refrigerator for 15 minutes before air frying.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches for even cooking and crisp texture.
  • Use thin-cut pork chops or pound thicker chops to about 1/4 inch thickness for fast, even cooking.
