Make quick, high-protein chicken breasts in the air fryer that are crispy on the outside and juicy inside, featuring a simple Parmesan crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts completely dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve crispiness.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Brush the chicken breasts lightly with olive oil on all sides.
  4. Press the Parmesan mixture firmly onto both sides of each chicken breast, creating an even crust.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 5 minutes.
  6. Place the crusted chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap.
  7. Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time.
  8. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should read 165°F (74°C) at the thickest part.
  9. Remove from the air fryer and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin on chicken thighs, ensure the skin side faces up for the majority of the cooking time.
  • Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to maintain airflow.
  • Use a digital thermometer for accurate doneness; this prevents overcooking and drying out the meat.
