Let me be honest: I’m an obsessive planner. My phone is filled with categorized lists, my calendar is a work of art, and for years, my favorite hobby was creating perfect, Pinterest-worthy boards of recipes I was too intimidated to actually cook. This blog is the story of what happened when my love for planning met a man whose love language is a perfectly seasoned pan.
Hi, I’m Amelia, and I’m 28. The man who patiently turns my digital dreams into delicious reality is my partner, Jacob, who is 31. Welcome to Taste Portfolio—our curated collection of the recipes that have defined our life together.
When we first met, my idea of a home-cooked meal was a well-researched takeout order. Jacob, on the other hand, cooked with a natural, easy confidence that I found both amazing and incredibly frustrating. He just knew things. I realized I didn’t want to just watch him cook anymore; I wanted to build something with him.
So, I started treating each meal like a project. I’d do the research, find the best-rated recipe online, and organize the ingredients. He’d be the lead artist, taking my plan and adding his own creative, intuitive touch. The kitchen became our studio.
Why “Taste Portfolio”?
An artist has a portfolio to showcase their best work. This blog is ours. Every recipe you find here is a piece we’ve chosen to add to our collection. It’s been planned, tested, sometimes failed, and ultimately perfected by the two of us. It’s not just a list of ingredients; it’s a finished project that we are incredibly proud of.
This is our digital scrapbook of delicious successes. It’s the answer to the question, “What should we make for dinner?” answered with joy, collaboration, and a whole lot of love.
We created this for the planners who need a little creative push and for the creative cooks who need a little structure. It’s for anyone who believes that making a meal together is one of the best projects a couple can share.

- Amelia (28): The Project Manager. That’s me. I’m the researcher, the planner, and the one who builds the blueprint for every delicious project.
- Jacob (31): The Lead Artist. He’s the one with the talent and the intuition. He takes my plans and turns them into a masterpiece, every single time.
